LNG costs Turkey cheaper than Russian gas

Turkey increases import of liquefied natural gas to ensure domestic demand, benefiting from lower prices. In January-February 2015, the country increased LNG import by 11.6% as compared to the same period of the rpevious year to 1.9 billion cubic meters.

According to Global Gas Analytics, prices of May LNG contracts on the spot market are $7.2 per 1 million British thermal units (BTU), dropped by 50%.
