By 2035, gas production in Russia to reach 812 billion cubic meters, and in the USA – 808 billion

According to forecast of world energy development through until 2040, prepared by Analytical centre under the Russian Government and Institute for Energy Studies, by 2035 gas production in Russia will reach 812 billion cubic meters, exceeded the USA’s rate in the volume of 808 billion.

Analysts call the reason of this decline possible reduction of shale gas production in the USA. According to the forecast, in 2040 the volume of the gas production in Russia will make up 844 billion cubic meters, while the gas production in the USA will decrease to 802 billion cubic meters. In 2013, 668 billion cubic meters were extracted in Russia and 687.5 billion cubic meters in the USA.
