Alrosa increases its diamond reserves by 6% - to 667 million carats in 2012

In 2012 Alrosa increased the reserves of diamonds at its deposits by 6% - to 666.8 million carats, the company reports.

On Friday the Board of Alrosa summarized the results of the work of the geological complex in 2012 – the total increment of the reserves made up 35.8 million carats. “The increment is provided due to geological exploration of placers of the new deposits Ebelyakh and Gusiny. Exploration of Dalnyaya kimberlite pipe has started, the works at Verkhne-Munskoye, Maiskoye and Zarnitsa go on. Exploration of diamonds with assessment of the prospects of the explored areas has been conducted at 25 deposits”, is said in the report.
