Ministry of Energy expects a switch of the fuel-and-energy sector to excess-profits tax by 2016

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation expects a switch to excess-profits tax or financials tax by 2016. They said about it in the press-service of the Ministry to ITAR-TASS.

“To date, the Ministry of Energy is engaged in the development of mechanism of transference to financials tax. The approximate time frames are until 2016,” they said in the press-service.

As ITAR-TASS reported earlier, the Ministry of Energy, together with oil companies LUKOIL, Surgutneftegas, Tatneft, Bashneft, considers the projects, which could become pilot ones within the framework of the introduction of excess-profits tax. The appropriate amendments are to be introduced in 2014.
