In January-September, Nordgold reduced gold production by 5%

In the first nine months of 2015, Nordgold of businessman Alexei Mordashov reduced the total gold production in Russia and abroad by 5% as compared to the same period a year earlier to 708.2 thousand ounces (22 tons), the company reports.

The fall is explained by the planned reduction in the production at the Taparko mine due to cutback of pit-35 for provision of the enterprise with ore in the future, as well as due to the fact that part of the Dore bead, produced at mines in Burkina Faso, wasn’t refined in the third quarter due to the political instability. This metal was refined and sold in October.
