In the first 9 months, Alrosa reduced proceeds by 27%, increased diamond mining by 16%

In the first nine months of 2015, the group Alrosa, the largest diamond mining in the world, reduced the volume of diamond sales by 20% to 23 million carats. The proceeds from the sale of diamonds fell, according to preliminary data, by 27% to at least $2.7 billion as compared to the same period of 2014, the company reports.

At the same time, in the first nine months, the company increased its diamond production by 16% to 29.6 million carats, and kept the production plan for 2015 in the volume of 38 million carats, the report says.
