Stainless steel from China falls in price

Basic offers of Chinese cold-rolled steel of sort 304 this week made up 12,800-13,000 yuans ($2,088-2,121) per ton, VAT included at the largest market of Usi having fallen by 100 yuans ($16) per ton against last week. The sales are slow now as buyers prefer to use their reserves accumulated last year, sources in the market say.

Prices for nickel which are not stable worsen the situation. Besides this, nickel cast iron (Ni 10-15%) has also fallen in price by 20 yuans ($3) from last week to 880-900 yuans ($144-147) per ton.
