Alrosa decreased diamonds production but increased revenue from their sale

On the results of H1 2014 the production of the Alrosa group fell to 15.9 mln carats and the revenue rose to $2.7 bln.

In H1 2014 the largest diamonds production company in Russia – Alrosa – produced 15.9 mln carats of diamonds, by 7% less against the same period in 2013. The company’s press service reports.

The diamonds production in Q2 2014 made up 8.0 mln carats, by 16% less than in Q2 2013.

“The diamonds production fall is mainly explained by the planned capital repair works at the company’s processing plants #8 of the Aikhalsky GOK and #12 of the Udachninsky GOK”, Alrosa said.
