Russia. Minenergo waits for a decision of LNG export liberalization in 2013

The Ministry of Energy of Russia will keep insisting on the liberalization of liquefied natural gas export and hopes to get the decision before the end of 2013, the head of the Ministry A.Novak said.

“Gazprom”, controlled by the state, has a sole right for gas export under the law. The Russian independent gas producer NOVATEK and “Rosneft”, which is about to increase gas production, insist on a revocation of monopoly on LNG. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation D.Medvedev has also supported an idea of LNG export liberalization and keep the sole export outlet. RIA Novosti reports.
