The Ukraine reduced coal extraction by 60% in March 2015

​According to the State Statistic Service of the Ukraine, in March 2015 the mines extracted 2 mln tons of coal.

The extraction of coal fell by 60% against February 2015.

In total from the beginning of 2015, 6.5 mln tons of coal were extracted.

The Ukraine doesn’t hold the sources of anthracite coal anymore which is necessary for the country’s thermal power plants.

In February the Ukraine imported anthracite coal for $121.6 mln.

The state mines of the  Ukraine will reduce coal production by 50% in 2015. The Cabinet of Ministers wants to liquidate the mines which can’t be privatized by the Government.
