Kazakhstan stops scrap metal exports for 2 months

From April 21 until June 30 2014, Kazakhstan abolishes exports of scrap metal and waste of ferrous metals, in connection with possible deficiency of this raw material at the internal market. The abolishment does not act for scrap metal and waste of alloyed steel including rustproof steel. The reason of deficiency is the fact that the scrap metal collectors sell the material mostly abroad, to the CIS and the EU that worsens the situation at the Kazakh large metal enterprises. By 2015, the forecasted scrap metal consumption in Kazakhstan will be 5.9 million tons.
