Severstal to intend to participate in implementation of the project “Power of Siberia”

The Severstal’s assets – the Izhorsk pipe plant and Block 5000 of CherMK’s rolling mill-3, located in St. Petersburg, plan to participate in the new Gazprom’s gas-transport project, called “Power of Siberia”.

The Izhorsk pipe plant, specialized in the production of large-diameter pipes from strip material, made by the Cherepovetsk metallurgic plant (the both assets belong to Severstal Russian Steel), has all necessary technological groundwork for the participation in such projects. At present, the technology of production of highly deformed pipes with special properties for the use in zones of active tectonic faults, crossing the location of the gas-transport system “Power of Siberia”, is designed on basis of the Izhorsk pipe plant with the participation of Gazprom’s specialists.
