KMG E&P forecasts discovery of a large hydrocarbon deposit at the Uzen-Zhetybay layer of the Mangyshlak basin in 2014, at depth of 4,500 – 5,700 m. These forecasts are made on the basis of earlier executed seismic 2D and 3D exploration and the common structure model of the Ustyurt-Bozashinsky and Mangyshlak basins onshore and in the Caspian water area. In accordance with the regional division, these territories are regarded as the new assets for perspective geological exploration. Extractable reserves of the Mangyshlak basin are 337 million tons.
