EU considers it’s time to construct the Transcaspian gas pipeline

The European Union considers that there are the most favorable conditions to start the construction of the Transcaspian gas pipeline, the EU temporary charge d'affaires in Turkmenistan, Denis Daniilidis stated on Tuesday.

Speaking at the International Oil and Gas conference, he noted that the EU and Turkmenistan strive for the quick completion of negotiations on this pipeline and conclusion of agreement on its construction.

“The Transcaspian pipeline is a key gas pipeline and the European Union thinks than the current conditions are the most favorable to conclude the agreement on this pipeline and to start its construction. We must resolve some issues during the negotiations and the first pipeline may be constructed before the Southern gas corridor will be completed,” – Daniilidis said.
