Cargo shipment in Azerbaijan fell by 3% in January-May 2016

​ The volume of cargo shipment by all types of transport in Azerbaijan in January-May 2016 made up 85 mln 623.6 thousand tons, by 3% lower than in January-May 2015.

In January-May 2016 the volume of non-oil shipment grew by 1.2% to 62.4 mln tons.

The stake of cargo shipment of non-Government transportation enterprises was 81.8%, the stake of the Government sector – 18.2%. The volume of cargo shipment from the part of non-Government transportation enterprises in January-May 2016 rose by 1.9% against January-May 2015.The railway shipment in January-May 2016 made up 5 mln 754.8 thousand tons, by 23.5% less than in January-May 2015.

In January-May 2016, 2 mln 156.1 thousand tons of various cargo were shipped by sea (-31%), road transport – 52 mln 933.8 thousand tons (+2.8%), 58.9 thousand tons (-18.8%) by air.

18 mln 405.2 thousand tons of oil (-3.4%) were shipped by domestic oil pipelines. 14 mln 746.7 thousand tons or 80.1% of the entire volume were pumped by BTC. In January-May 2016, 2 mln tons of transit oil were shipped by BTC.

The rest volume was pumped by the route gas pipelines.
