The replacement for the "South Stream".pipeline

Left without Russian gas the Ukraine is trying to thwart the plans of "Gazprom" for the construction of the "South Stream" pipeline, which will be bypassing its territory. Managing to attract the companies from the European Union and the United States to manage its gas transportation system (GTS), the Ukraine will deprive Europe of interest in the construction of the "South Stream" pipeline, Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada. "This gives us the opportunity to stop the construction of the "South Stream" and send all the volumes that are planned for the "South Stream" through the Ukrainian gas transportation system, as the countries - members of the European Union will be primarily interested in this", - he stated, introducing the bill on reforming the management of the unified gas transportation system of the Ukraine.

The document proposes to leave GTS and the underground gas storage facilities owned by the state, but a separate operating company will manage the system, 49% of the share is proposed to submit to the gas-transporters – the members of the EU and the United States.
