Novak: we have a variant of South Stream construction through Turkey
The Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak reported to journalists that the theoretical possibility of changing route of the South Stream gas pipeline in the case of the withdrawal of Bulgaria from the project and its construction through Turkey instead of this country existed, but this issue hadn’t been discussed yet.
"Theoretically it is possible, but we haven’t discussed this and in general in the first place Gazprom should decide this in terms of the project economics. If such proposals are voiced, we will negotiate. For a while we haven’t received such proposals from Gazprom,"- Novak said, answered for a question about the topics, discussed at the meeting with the Turkish Energy Minister, Taner Yildiz
