Russia: Ferrous steel exports makes up 2 million tons over the first 5 months

In May 2012, the volume of ferrous steel exports from Russia reached 450 thousand tons according to customs and railroad (in the countries of the Customs Union) statistics. It is by 2% higher than it was the previous month, but by 10% less the figure in May 2011.

The volume of shipment made up 1.83 million tons in January-May. It is by 6.4% less the figure of the previous year. The levels of 2009 and 2010 are exceeded by about 2 and 1.4 times respectively.

About 40% of the shipment this year is done to Turkey. If to compare with the same period last year the deliveries to this country went only down by 0.2%. Belarus is in the second place.Exports to this country made up 451.7 thousand tons (-25%). Korea is in the third position (183 thousand tons, +9.7%).
