Russia and Greece might sign a deal on Turkish Stream tomorrow

​The deal between Russia and Greece by the Turkish Stream might be signed on April 21st.

Greece might receive 5 bln euro as an advance payment for the construction of Turkish Stream in the framework of the 2–party agreement which is planned to be signed with Russia.

In early April the Minister of Environment and Energy of Greece, P. Lafazanis, said that a certain memorandum on cooperation in the construction of the gas pipeline is planned to be signed soon. Previously Mr. Putin said that a new route of the Russian gas via Turkey will allow Greece to become one of the main energy distribution centers on the continent, will help to attract significant capital investment into the economy of Greece, found additional work places.

The decision on the construction of Turkish Stream was made after the refusal of Russia from the realization of South Stream. The capacity of the first pipeline – Turkish Stream – will be 63 bln cubic m. The gas by the first branch of the gas pipeline at the volume of 15.75 bln cubic m will be shipped to the Turkish market. The supplies will start in December 2016.
