Kazakhstan has extended the ban on the import of diesel fuel from Russia

On April 20th 2015 Kazakhstan banned the import of diesel fuel from Russia by railway for a month.

Previously the government of Kazakhstan said it doesn’t plan to restrict the import of oil products from Russia even in the case of exceeding of the earlier approved volumes of supplies.

The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, V. Shkolnik, said in late Jan 2015 that the country is in danger in case of import of the Russian fuel.

Kazakhstan imports 12-30% of various fuel, oil and lubricants from Russia.

Previously there was a ban for the export of fuel, oil and lubricants in Kazakhstan which was introduced to avoid a critical lack of oil products in the domestic market.

Due to that there are 500 cars loaded with fuel, oil and lubricants not allowed to leave the country.
