Bashmed has launched the Yubileyny underground mine

​“Bashkir copper” (in the structure of UGMK) has started the pilot and industrial ore extraction by the underground method at the Yubileyny copper-zinc deposit (Bashkiriya).

In 2015 it is planned to extract 237 thousand tons of ore by the underground method at this site, 19.7 thousand tons in April.

In mid March “Bashkir copper” was issued a positive conclusion of the state expertise for the project “Stripping and development of the 4-5 pilot and industrial site of the Yubileyny deposit”. The reserves of the 4-5th layers make up 11.385 mln tons of copper and copper-zinc ore.

From 2006 “Bashkir copper” has been developing the Yubileyny deposit by the open-pit method. The total reserves of the deposit make up about 100 mln tons of ore, 88% of which is extracted by the underground method. In 2011 the company started to construct the underground mine. Within 4 years the miners have covered 5.67 thousand m of rocks.
