Rosgeologia receives license for geological and geophysical works in the Gulf of Ob

The Federal Subsoil Use Agency has granted Sevmorgeo the right to use the subsoil of Ust-Ob area (the Kara Sea) for geological and geophysical works, Rosgeologia’s press release reports.

“The project is promising in terms of hydrocarbon resources as the basis for  replacement in the country. The subsoil area is located in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district, in the Gulf of Ob,” – the report says.

The company received the right to work at the Ust-Ob area in October of 2013, won in contest, held by Rosnedra. 2D and 3D geological models of the area will be designed during the study, perspectives of its oil-and-gas content will be estimated, the most promising sites with assessment of predicted hydrocarbon resources of the D1l category will be determined.
