Commissioning and start-up of aromatic hydrocarbon complex at Atyrau refinery is scheduled for April-May

The Atyrau refinery plans to carry out the commissioning and start-up of the aromatic hydrocarbons  project in April-May of this year, the plant reports.

According to it, qualified welders and installation staff work at the site currently. The supply and installation of is equipment is continuing. Operational and performance tests will take place in August. The acceptance of the complex for operations will be conducted in September of 2014.

Let’s recall, the project “The construction of the aromatic hydrocarbon complex at Atyrau refinery” is implemented within the State program of Kazakhstan planned industrial and innovative development and is almost at completion now. As a result of the construction, a modern technical base on the extraction of benzene from gasoline fractions and paraxylene production will be created. Recent developments in the field of engineering solutions on the minimization of environmental impact were provided for during the plant reconstruction. When the Chinese company Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co.LTD finishes the the  construction in 2014, 133 thousand tons of benzene and 496 thousand tons of paraxylene with guaranteed purity of 99.9% will be the approxamite output at the Atyrau refinery. A single chain of petrochemical enterprises, which will produce high value-added products, will be created in Kazakhstan.
