Russian Steel: New market balance

The times, when the prevailing part of the steel products, manufactured in Russia, was exported, has passed. In 2013, the Russian export was less than 25 million tons (-2 mln. tons against 2012). The domestic consumption is estimated at an average 44 million tons (+3.5-3.8% against 2012) by various specialists. The domestic market is going to stay the priority market for the Russian metallurgists in the immediate future. There apparently kept oversupply on the global market this year, in particular in China and Europe, while the final consumption of roll stock will be restricted.
