Gazprom may prefer oil to gas at the South-Kirinskoye field

Gazprom has discovered the largest offshore oil field in Russia in Sakhalin-3. Experts think that results of exploration will make the company change its plans concerning the South-Kirinskoye field.

Before, Gazprom estimated C1+C2 reserves at 563.9 billion cubic meters of gas and 71.7 million tons of gas condensate. Now 464 million tons of oil (C1+C2) were added, the reserves of gas condensate grew to 131 million tons and gas to 682 billion cubic meters.
