Seversky pipe plant introduces automated management system for transporting logistics

Seversky pipe plant (STZ), a subsidiary of TMK has introduced to trial and production operations the automated system for operational dispatch management over transport logistics. The new system is already used at the railway shop and the strips storage of pipe electric welding shop # 2. The site for uninterrupted cast intermediates dispatch will be the second sitewhere the new system will be launched. Trial and production operations will give the opportunity to make the necessary adjustments and to adapt the logistics management system to the conditions of STZ operation.

While preparing for the introduction of the new system, the enterprise’s railway stations were equipped with work terminals, adjusted to the information net, and over 100 workers were specially trained. The system helps to monitor in on-line mode the movement of each car, control idling of cars at the approach ways and its contractors, and the execution of inner transporting, including technological. Within the second stage, they will launch the automated informational system ‘Transporting work’. The system will help to analyze the whole spectrum of inner and outer transport flows, inner-plant transport, to compile accounting for different directions of optimization and reduction of transport expenses.
