“VSMPO-Avisma” gets access to titan-ore deposits

The world's largest producer of titanium semi-products “VSMPO-Avisma” has achieved  control over the Demurinsky GOK (Dnepropetrovsk region, the Ukraine). The enterprise is focused on the development of the Volchanskoye placer titan-zirconia deposit. As the head of the company M.Voevodin noted, the local ilmenite is of good quality and its supply to the Russian Federation will help to save on logistics. The current raw material supply arrives at “VSMPO-Avisma” from Africa. In 2012, ilmenite deliveries to Russia from the Volnogorsk ore mining and smelting works (VGMK) decreased significantly.
