Russia may start beryllium production

Tomsk Polytechnic University together with the Siberian Chemical Combine has received the first Russian sample of strategically important metal beryllium.

Beryllium is a rare metal, which has physical and mechanical properties, appropriate for a wide range of use. Beryllium is used in many sectors of industry, i.e. aerospace, nuclear sector, in the manufacture of telecommunication facilities. At present, Russia import beryllium from China, Kazakhstan and the USA.
