Caution should be addressed to the plans of the EU on the diversification of energy supplies and the replacement of the Russian gas by LNG from the USA. Maria van der Hoeven, executive director of the International Energy Agency asserted to Sputnik.
“We (Europe) will be able to get LNG from the USA. But it will not happen until 2016. At present we understand that the price of LNG is higher than the cost of the Russian pipeline gas. Let’s not give a dramatic turn to this aspect,” commented the director.
