Polymetal has announced the results of the technical economic assessment of Bakyrchik and Bolshevik hardrock gold deposits

​Polymetal has announced the results of the technical economic assessment of the Kyzyl project comprising the Bakyrchik and Bolshevik hardrock gold deposits in the Zharmin district of the East-Kazakhstan region.

The results of the technical economic assessment have confirmed the efficiency of the selected by Polymetal approach to the project’s development. Within the first decade the deposit will be developed by the open-pit method with the productivity of 1.8 mln tons of ore  a year with further turn to the underground extraction with the productivity of 1.2 mln tons a year. Ore will be processed by the flotation enrichment method into gold concentrate meant for further sale to other processors.

Polymetal plans to start full-scale construction in Q2 2016. Processing will start in H2 2018. The first year of production at full capacity will be 2019.

Polymetal selected the sale of the produced concentrate at Kyzyl to other processing plants as the basic scenario.
