The Ukraine doesn’t have enough coal even for a month

The Ukraine doesn’t have the required the monthly minimum volume of coal of 3.1 million tons, two of the ten coal thermal power stations have coal only for another few days, said the Deputy Energy Minister, Yuri Zyukov.

The Ukraine is experiencing difficulties in obtaining coal, as Kiev authorities carried out a special operation in the main place of its mining (in the Donbass). The Government has agreed with the British Steel Mont Trading on supply of 1 million tons of coal from South Africa. However, after the General Prosecutor's Office of the Ukraine initiated a case of embezzlement because of high cost of this coal, the trader decided to limit the supplies with the minimum possible amount of 500 thousand tons, because of reputational risks.
