MMSK improves quality of briquetting of raw materials

At the briquetting plant of the Mednogorsk copper-sulphur plant (MMSK, an enterprise of UGMK) a new mixer allowing to significantly increase the quality of briquetting of copper containing raw materials before its melting has been put into operation.

“The mixer meets modern requirements of raw materials preparation for briquetting”, chief metallurgist of MMSK, D. Skopin, says. With its application one may expect briquettes to be stronger. It should lead to the reduction of expenditure of the connecting material and a stake of small fraction of furnace charge in shaft furnaces and consequently to the rise of smelting rate of furnace charge.
