CNPC is ready to buy more than 10% in the Vankor project of "Rosneft".

The parties have already agreed – the sanctions made "Rosneft" more pliable, the analysts say.

CNPC is ready to consider the acquisition of more than 10% in CJSC "Vankorneft" (the subsidiary of "Rosneft"), the CNPC representative Zhang Xin reported "Interfax". CNPC and «Rosneft» signed the framework agreement for the purchase of this stake at the APEC summit in Beijing on November 9. Zhang Xin explained that CNPC thus agreed to buy the entire volume of shares that "Rosneft" has been able to offer. "We are interested in expanding cooperation with "Rosneft", the transition from upstream [exploration and production] to upstream and downstream [refining and marketing], to comprehensive cooperation", - he stated. Currently "Rosneft" and CNPC have only one project in Russia - a joint venture for the oil production in the Irkutsk region "Vostok-Energy". Yesterday the representatives of "Rosneft" declined to comment.
