Tajikistan imported 135,000 tons of LNG

In January – August, Tajikistan increased LNG imports by 65.6% to 135,000 tons, and in August imports were 23,323.7 tons, by 2,826.3 tons more than in July 2013.  Imports were performed mostly from Kazakhstan, at a rate of 134,518.3 tons in January – August, by 53,318 tons  more than within the whole previous year. In 2012, Tajikistan imported 81,200.3  tons of LNG. The fuel is supplied to Tajikistan by cars and by railway. Over 40% of Tajik cars use LNG due to high petrol price.
