Metal giants restore operation in Donetsk region, Ukraine

Donetsk Electric Metallurgy Plant is going to be launched in the beginning of October, the mayor of Donetsk A. Lukyanchenko says. In August 2013, Mechel closed the contract with the Russian businessman V. Varshavsky about the sales of 100% in Daveze Limited, owning 100% in Donetsk Electric Metallurgy Plant JSC. The plant was sold for a nominal value of Euro 2,000. The new director, L. Ivantsov has been imposed. They have started precommissioning. Today the oxygen block can be started. Trial smelting will be performed on September 25-28.
