Gas production at Umid has reached 180 million cubic m

Gas production at the Umid deposit has reached 180 million cubic m since the start of operation, the Vice President of SOCAR H. Yusifzade says. Gas condensate production within the period was over 26,000 tons. The deposit exploitation began in September 2012. Its reserves are 200 billion cubic m of gas and 40 million tons of gas condensate.

On November 24 2010, SOCAR announced about discovery of the Umid large gas deposit in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea. This is the second largest gas deposit after Shakh-Deniz, discovered within the era of independent Azerbaijan.
