In autumn, Balkan states meet to agree on the continuation of Turkish Stream in Europe

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia and Greece may sign a memorandum on construction of a gas pipeline from Turkey to Austria in autumn, one of the project participants told the Vedomosti. The meeting is expected to be held in September, it is planned to make a decision on the preparation of a feasibility study, a representative of the Hungarian gas company FGSZ, which will be responsible for the pipe in the territory of Hungary, confirmed. The gas pipeline was named Tesla, the first meeting of the working group for the project was held on June 25th, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary reported.

The project has been submitted to the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) to obtain the status of a project of public interest. A representative of ENTSOG confirmed this. However, the project hasn’t yet got the corresponding status, ENTSOG notes.
