Rosneft will compete with Gazprom for Nenets gas
The competition between 2 Russian largest oil and gas companies is escalating. Gazprom contests Rosneft’s application for of the licenses in the Nenets autonomous area for 2 medium deposits of federal importance with gas reserves of 220 billion cubic m. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology reports that the agency insists upon the tender between these 2 companies. Rosneft and Gazprom are eager to elect a decent holder of the assets in tender, not on the basis of price. The state can get $200 million for the licenses.
Last week the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, S. Donskoy a the session with participation of Rosneft's Vice President, L. Kalanda and the member of Gazprom Management Board, V. Cherepanov. They discussed the destiny of the licenses for the development of the Vaneyvisskoye and Layavozhskoye deposits in the Nenets autonomous area; Rosneft has made an application for them.
