Chevron may lose prospects of participation in the development of Arctic shelf

Three foreign companies, inclusive of the American Chevron, applied for a control of the Ukrainian gas pipeline system. ITAR-TASS reports citing the source close to the process of negotiations.

According to the source, official applications for participation are expected when the legislation on an administration of the gas pipeline system become effective.

The source, close to “Naftogaz Ukrainy” confirmed information that Chevron was among the participants. They say in “Naftogaz” they are about to start talks with the operators of gas transporting network concerning their participation in the management of the Ukrainian gas pipeline system in the near future. “Signing of an agreement is only possible when it is agreed by the Verchovna Rada of the Ukraine,” they said in the company.
