Turkmenistan is about to reach 15 mln tons of oil processing a year by 2015

The natural and associated gas production growth rate made up 110.3% in January-May 2014 against 2013. Ministry of Oil-and-Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of the country stated. To date, Turkmenistan is exporting natural gas to China, Iran and Russia. The future gas pipelines from Turkmenistan are theTranscaspian gas pipeline (via Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan to Europe) and Transafgan gas pipeline to Pakistan and India.

Turkmenistan, according to the report by BP, is in the fourth place on natural gas resources after Russia, Iran and Qatar. The largest deposits of the country are focused in the Maryisky region on the east of the country, near the “Galkynysh” with the total resources of 26.2 trillion cubic meters, according to the local geologists and British GCA.

There produced approximately 70 billion cubic meters of gas in Turkmenistan every year. The republic is about to reach 230 billion cubic meters of gas production by 2030 according to the Oil-and-Gas Industry Development programme.
