Russia is ready to grant gas discount to the Ukraine

Russia is ready to give a discount on gas supplies to the Ukraine if it repays at least a part of its debt for gas supplied. The price could fall to $385 per 1 thousand cubic meters.

Russia offers the Ukraine a compromise version of the gas conflict solution. If Naftogaz Ukrainy repays its debt to Gazprom in the amount of $2.237 billion, Russia will give the Ukraine a gas discount. This was announced by the Energy Minister, Alexander Novak.

Earlier, Novak explained how the discount can be provided to the Ukraine this time. According to him, a compromise decision is possible if the Ukraine reports about the sources of funds to pay for gas and provides a guarantee. And if the EC will propose more concrete actions to improve the economic situation in the Ukraine.
