KMG will elaborate with another partner the point of the Abay block development

KMG will elaborate with another partner the point of the Abay block development in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, the Minister of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan  S. Mynbayev says. He gives no precise names.

Bloomberg reports that Statoil is leaving the project of the development of the Kazakh offshore block of Abay, after 7 years of unsuccessful negotiations about the starting of production. In 2006, KMG reported about the intention of Statoil to join the Abay project with reserves of 387 million tons in oil equivalent.
