Tatneft sets experiments with shale oil

The company drills the first horizontal well for the presence of Domanic layers.
Tatneft at the pilot well in the Bavly region of Tatarstan is testing the technology of shale oil extraction. The vertical part of the well of more than 1,400 m deep has been drilled. The next stage is the drilling of a 400 m long horizontal bore with the multi-zone layer hydrofracture. The deepness of the layer with shale oil from the Domanic layers is 5 m.
Previously in the Bavly region for tests with the extraction of shale oil the old vertical well was used via which the specialists of Tatneft held the layer burning with the application of the multi-zone hydrofracturing.
