CEO of UC Rusal sees grounds for aluminium price rise

CEO of UC Rusal said that the main factor that influences on the aluminium prices is oil as well as dollar’s strengthening. A positive trend for aluminium price stays.

The situation in the aluminium market at the beginning of the year is complicated, however, there is a deficit in the market and grounds for the price rise for metal, CEO of UC Rusal, V. Soloviev, thinks.

The aluminium prices, which showed a growth in Jan-November 2014, at the end of the year started to fall, and in mid Jan reached the minimal rates from 2013 - $1,774/ton on the LME. To compare: the average spot price on the LME in Q3 2014 made up $1,987/ton.
