EdF may decide not to buy Quadra from Oneksim.

The French EdF may decide not to buy the "Quadra" Generation Company from "Oneksim" of Mikhail Prokhorov, "the Vedomosti" wrote on Tuesday, citing the sources close to "Quadra" and "Oneksim".

A source close to the power company indicates that there have been no contacts with the French company since summer. In September EdF had finally abandoned the deal, another person close to "Oneksim" stated. According to him, the potential buyer does not see prospects for the growth of tariffs for thermal energy (accounting for half of the revenue of "Quadra") and, as a consequence, improving the company's financial performance. Over the past two years "Quadra" had a fixed net loss under IFRS.

EdF conducted the negotiations for the purchase of "Quadra" since the summer of 2013. For this purpose EdF has decided to invite "Inter RAO" into the deal. A person close to "Inter RAO" insisted that it only provided consulting services to EdF. The representative of the state-owned company claimed that it did not maintain the negotiations on the purchase of "Quadro".
