Officials ask Russian drilling companies to unite because of the sanctions

The American and European sanctions against Russian oil companies have forced officials to intensify the search for opportunities for import substitution of western oil service technologies and equipment. Earlier, the Minister of Natural Resources, Sergei Donskoy proposed to create a national oil service company based on Rosgeologia. The alternative to this can be the creation of a consortium of domestic oil service companies and a single bank of oil service technologies, the RBC writes.

Last Friday, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Sergei Donskoy stated that Western sanctions were an excellent opportunity for the rapid import substitution on the oilfield services market. "The current situation is a reason to create a large state-owned operator in oilfield services in the country. For example, it may be Rosgeologia. This will give a powerful synergetic effect and will be a positive incentive for the sphere of engineering and high-tech,"- the Minister wrote.
