Severstal and TMK improves process of products delivery

Severstal and TMK during the meeting of their general directors summed up the joint cross-functional project "The creation of the control system of supplies between Severstal and TMK", the companies report.

The project on basis of Tagmet (a part of TMK) was launched in October last year. Its main aim was the total optimization of all the business processes (logistics, commercial and industrial-technical) within the production, supply and processing of rolled metal to reduce the financial and time costs.

As a result of fulfillment of the planned actions, the time of orders execution decreased to 20 days (initially, the terms reached 30 days).
Besides, the time of delivery of products to consumers by rail significantly decreased: previously, the travel time was 7-8 days, now the metal arrives at the station of Taganrog during 5-6 days. The reduction of the delivery time was largely achieved through the support of Russian Railways.
