Alrosa will start diamonds production at Verkhne-Munskoye after 2019

Alrosa is going to agree the project of the Verkhne-Munskoye deposit's development in Yakutia in 2015. The deposit is located in 180 km from the active pit of the Udachny deposit, the director of the Udachny ore-dressing combine A. Makhrachev says. The reserves of Verkhne-Munskoye are 65 million tons with average diamonds content of 0.6 carats per ton, i.e. 40 million carats of diamonds in the total.

Now Alrosa test and defines the methods for the Verkhne-Munskoye ore field development. It includes 4 deposits with total reserves of 65 million tons of ore, and one large deposit with reserves of 34 million tons. They hold the license and elaborate the feasibility study now. After completion of the construction of the underground mine at Udachny in 2019, Alrosa will start development this group of deposits.
