Gazprom might return to Turkish Stream

​The company promised to specify the period after the normalization of relationships between Russia and Turkey.

The period of realization of the Turkish Stream will be specified after the normalization of relationships between Russia and Turkey and signing of the intergovernmental agreement, a member of Gazprom’s Board, O. Aksyutin, said.

To provide gas supply to the export route Gazprom has projected the Southern corridor system consisting of 2 branches of the gas pipeline – eastern and western (has been already constructed). Currently the Southern corridor system is a pipe meant for the supply of the additional gas volumes to the southern regions of Russia. Today it can supply the additional 15 bln cubic m of gas to the regions of Russia.

In mid January the Minister of Energy, A. Novak, admitted a possibility of resuming the works upon the Turkish Stream in 2016.
