The Russian part of the “South Stream” not to have significant influence on the environment

The Commission for State Expert Evaluation made a positive conclusion on the project documentation for the Russian part of the offshore gas pipeline “South Stream”. The conclusion stage of the project documentation review process also includes an assessment of the environmental impact for the project in Russia.

The experts have investigated the flora and fauna resources of the Black Sea water area and the pipeline landfall near Anapa, estimated environmental impact and suggested a number of measures to prevent or reduce any negative effect.
